Q: How to set quick presets using Version 14 software?
A: Quick preset mode selected through Menu 6.
Q: How to set quick presets using Version 15 software?
A: Quick preset mode selected through Menu 7.
Q: Controller is showing Error A?
A: This is caused by a software compatibility problem; the software in the controller does not match the software in the matrix. This problem may occur if a controller is replaced or upgraded for example, in this case, the matrix software would also need upgrading.
Q: Controller is showing Error B?
A: This is caused through Alarm Polling. To remove Error B from the Controller, first disable the alarms on the controller ( 99 ALRM) then enable the alarms again ( 0 ALRM), If user is not using alarms then switch alarms off.
Q: Controller is showing Error 1, 2, 3 or 4?
A: Check comms connections to Alarm Interfaces. Matrix setup to poll for Alarm interfaces.Error shows which alarm interface is not connected. To remove enter System Install menu ( Menu 7) and select the number of alarm interfaces on the system. ( 0 if none are connected.)
Q: Controller is showing Error 5 or 6?
A: Check comms connections to Slaves controllers. If ok Enter System Install menu ( Menu 7) and select the number of slave controllers connected to the system ( 0 if none connected) If slave connected, ensure that slave No. is set correctly. If ok Isolate problem by substitution. TM99 slave controllers - suspect 485 in TM99INT/1.
Q: Controller is showing Error 7?
A: The controller is a Slave and is not receiving Polling signals from the Master Controller. Check to see if the Master is setup to poll for slave controllers.
Q: Controller is showing Error 8?
A: Matrix is not responding to controller - check comms. Power controller off and on and check it logs on.
Q: Domes won't work with Foreign Controllers?
A: Are the protocol DIP switches set correctly on the address board.
Q: No Comms?
A: Check orientation of 485 A and B
Q: Erratic Comms?
A: Check Termination. If termination is correct, possible faulty MAX485 IC somewhere. Remove domes one by one until problem disappears.
Q: No Zoom or focus but Pan/Tilt are ok?
A: No camera comms. Usually a Faulty camera or slipring.
Q: How to stop monitor from switching cameras?
A: Monitor is set to autosequence. Press and hold SEQ will show which monitors are sequencing. To stop, press monitor number then SEQ.
Q: How to setup a patrol?
A: Select Dome Setup or Dome Install Menu, select Preset Functions then Set up Patrol. Also possible to setup patrol using Quick Presets, but this only stores Patrol path 1 and uses default values ( Dwell -10s and Speed -3 )
Q: Set unit to patrol after manual telemetry?
A: Set unit to AutoPatrol. Select Dome Setup or Dome Install Menu, select Autopatrol and enter Time delay .
Q: Set unit to Park after manual telemetry?
A: Set unit to AutoPark.Select Dome Setup or Dome Install Menu, select AutoPark and Enter time delay.
Q: Want to use functions such as OSD, Camera Switching ( Colour/B+W) with foreign controllers?
A: Possible by using DIA software and an RS232/485 Interface.
Q: Want to set patrol on a Meridian Dome?
A: All 16 presets must be stored for meridian to patrol.
Q: One camera moves while controlling another?
A: Dome addresses need checking to make sure that two are not set to the same address.
Q: Setting camera to certain preset when alarm is triggered?
A: Enter Alarms setup menu ( Menu 3) Select External alarms for External Alarm interfaces, Internal Alarms for Matrix alarms. Internal alarms have several possible functions. 1, Standard Alarm. 2, Patrol Alarm. 3, One pass Patrol Alarm. 4, Multiple Camera Alarm
Q: How to set dome to go to certain preset and certain time of day?
A: Possible to set timer. Enter Timer Setup menu ( Menu 5) and select required function.
Q: Intermittent loss of Power or Video?
A: Slip rings will, very occasionally, go open circuit. Poorly connected terminals are a more likely cause of open circuits, so inspect these before condemning the slipping.
Q: What wavelength of IR illuminator should I use?
A: 715nM-730nM are clearly visible
815nM-850nM have a barely visible red glow
940nM to 950nM are invisible to the human eye.
The Sony camera block works right the way up to 1000nM so any of these can be used.
However - the further you go from visible light, the less sensitive the camera is. (this seems to be common to most cameras) So to get the best picture go for the shorter wavelengths, but if you do not want people to see the red glow then you need to go for a longer wavelength,
