The Trust, which is based in Huddersfield, does all it can to fight cancer in young people, aged 13-24, an age group often under supported in the UK. It also supports patients during their frequent spells in hospital.
“We were so inspired by The Laura Crane Trust and their forward thinking attitude” says John Turner, Sales Director of Mercer CCTV “Having teenagers at home myself, I was compelled to do what I could to help” A recent campaign for the Trust is their ‘Chatworld’ project. This is a virtual world, hosted online that enables their young cancer patients to create a character and interact with other users in a variety of amazing settings. Pam Thornes, Fundraising Manager at the Trust says “The project will cost £60,000 and at the moment, we are roughly half way. Since many of our patients speak of isolation and loneliness, this project seeks to alleviate that by bringing young people together from all over the country. We are grateful for any support that can help us achieve this goal” Taking technology to the next stage is not something that Mercer shy away from. They have pioneered many new products including the Vehicle Mounted Dome which will be displayed at IFSEC and the acclaimed ‘Quickswitch’ Technology, which enables installers the flexibility to alter their camera network easily and efficiently. “The innovative work involved in the production of Chatworld, really resonated with us and the work we are doing on our own products” continues John from Mercer CCTV “We are thrilled to do what we can to help” For more Information or to make a donation visit www.lauracranetrust.org |
